For the past five weeks, students at Madrone Elementary School in Santa Rosa have been enthusiastically engaging in a unique and enriching experience, mastering the basics of Muay Thai. This opportunity has been made possible through a volunteer program spearheaded by Ben Brown, a dedicated and experienced instructor from PHAS3 Martial Arts. The program has seen participation from over 250 eager students, ranging from first to sixth grade, all of whom have been immersing themselves in the rich traditions of this ancient Thai martial art.
Throughout the program, students have not only been learning the physical techniques of Muay Thai but have also been absorbing valuable life lessons in focus, respect, and discipline. These core principles are integral to the practice of Muay Thai and have been seamlessly integrated into the students' learning experience. Principal Brooklynn Clark has observed a noticeable and positive impact within the classroom environment, with students demonstrating improved focus, better behavior, and a heightened sense of responsibility.
Ben Brown, who is a seasoned martial arts instructor with years of experience, has been impressed by how quickly the students have embraced the lessons.
Over the course of several weeks, students at Madrone Elementary School in Santa Rosa embarked on a unique journey of self-discovery and physical education, learning the fundamentals of Muay Thai, a traditional martial art from Thailand. This enriching five-week program, which concluded on Friday, was made possible through the generous efforts of Ben Brown, the owner and lead instructor at PHAS3 Martial Arts, also located in Santa Rosa. Brown volunteered his time and expertise to introduce students from first through sixth grade to the art of Muay Thai, as well as to help them gain insights into their own capabilities and character, according to Principal Brooklynn Clark.
The program was carefully structured to accommodate six different grade levels within a tight schedule, with lessons taking place over just two days each week. Instructors dedicated their mornings, from 8:15 to 11 a.m., to imparting knowledge and skills, which meant that each grade received less than an hour of instruction per session each week. Despite the limited time, the program was designed to be impactful and engaging, ensuring that students could absorb the core principles of Muay Thai.
The initiative began when a member of the Parent Teacher Association approached Brown with the idea of offering martial arts lessons at the school. Brown, who already had experience teaching some of the Madrone students, was immediately enthusiastic about the opportunity.

ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty is ready to defend his throne in the most exciting way possible in Qatar.
Haggerty will put his gold on the line against Chinese superstar Wei Rui in the co-main event of the stacked ONE 171: Qatar card on Thursday, Feb. 20, at Lusail Sports Arena.
Taking to Instagram, Haggerty wrote that he's looking forward to putting on a proper world title defense in ONE Championship's return to Qatar.

Haggerty is arguably the greatest British striker of his generation, and his insane accolades in ONE Championship give massive weight to his case.
'The General' has held three world titles in the promotion across two weight classes and in as many disciplines.
Haggerty captured the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title when he outclassed Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao at ONE: For Honor in May 2019.
He held that throne until August of that year, when he relinquished the gold to Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE: Dawn of Heroes.
Haggerty ultimately climbed up to bantamweight after health scares and recaptured his magic to become a two-sport world champion in the division.
The 28-year-old scored probably the biggest win of his career when he knocked out the iconic Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE Fight Night 9 in April 2023.

An Isle of Wight Muay Thai fighter has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning a prestigious Champion Belt in Thailand, a country renowned for its rich history and deep-rooted culture in the sport of Muay Thai. The young and talented fighter, Hanif Sen, who proudly represents Team Conflict on the Isle of Wight, embarked on an ambitious journey just three months ago. At the tender age of 17, Hanif made the bold decision to leave his home on the Island and travel to Thailand, the birthplace of Muay Thai, to hone his skills and pursue his dreams of becoming a champion.
Before his departure, Hanif had already begun to make a name for himself in the world of martial arts. Under the expert guidance of his coach, Andy Harvey, who is the owner of Conflict Muay Thai, Hanif had built a solid foundation in the sport. His amateur Muay Thai record stood at 1 win and 1 loss, while his journey in the sport was marked by dedication and a passion for martial arts.

It has been ten years since he won his first belt in his career, the WLF 63 kg World Kung Fu Champion in 2015. Beyond Kickboxing’s Silver Tang had an interview with Wei Rui on the fight and his journey as a fighter.
During the past decade, Wei Rui successfully completed transitioning from his role as an excellent fighter to an outstanding coach. He guided Liu Ce to win the K-1 Openweight Eight-Man Grand Prix and the Cruiserweight title, and Han Wenbao to claim the WLF 67 kg World Kung Fu Championship title and 70 kg runner-up spot.
Meanwhile, new stars are rising in his team — Zhao Chongyang and Wei Weiyang have already made it into the top 10 of the Beyond Kickboxing Rankings, while up-and-coming fighters like Han Tianxiang and Zhou Jiaqiang are promising prospects. Wei Rui expressed his willingness of bringing more good fighters from his team, XiaoQi, to the world.

Ltd are set to embark on an ambitious cinematic journey by financing and producing an untitled Muay Thai action film trilogy, currently referred to as the Muay Thai Trilogy. This exciting project will prominently feature the renowned Thai martial arts star Tony Jaa, who has gained international fame for his roles in blockbuster films such as Furious 7, where he portrayed the character Kiet, as well as in Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy and Triple Threat.
The trilogy will be a collaborative effort between China and Thailand, with Stars Collective taking the lead in financing and producing the films. The production will take place across stunning locations in both Thailand and China, promising a visually captivating experience for audiences.
At the helm of this thrilling trilogy is Yuthlert Sippapak, a celebrated director known for his work on Friday Killer. Sippapak, who is also the founder of the production company Film Odyssey, will direct all three films in the Muay Thai Trilogy. His expertise and vision are expected to bring a unique and authentic touch to the action-packed narrative.
In addition to directing, Sippapak will take on the role of producer, working alongside Stars Collective founder Peter Luo and co-CEO Nancy Xu.
